Microarray details

Array name Bacillus-PhyloChip
Array Description Low-density oligonucleotide microarray (microchip) for identifying strains of five closely related bacilli (Bacillus anthracis, Bacillus cereus, Bacillus mycoides, Bacillus medusa and Bacillus subtilis). The microarray contains a hierarchical set of 30 oligonucleotide probes targeting the 16S ribosomal RNA of these bacilli at multiple levels of specificity (approximate taxonomic ranks of domain, kingdom, order, genus and species).
Array technique Low-density DNA microchip array, consisting of oligonucleotide probes embedded in glass-immobilized polyacrylamide gel elements measuring 100x100x20µm and spaced 200µm apart on a glass slide, produced by a photopolymerization procedure.
